Drain line jetting, which is also known as hydro jetting, can be performed on your septic system to get clogs out of drain field lines or sewer lines. We here at Holland Septic Services have years of drain line jetting experience that make us the right company to call for even the toughest septic situations.
We use an effective 4,300 PSI (Pounds per Square Inch), 4 GPM (Gallons Per Minute) hydro jetter that will free your lines of obstructions and help them stay in excellent condition. In fact, hydro jetting is recommended as part of a preventative maintenance plan because it will get rid of debris and small vegetation roots before a clog occurs. If there are signs of vegetation growing around the drain field, we will use a root killer in addition to the hydro jetting.
Keep reading to learn more about some common causes of clogged drain fields.
Infrequent Pumping: It’s very important to have your septic system cleaned and pumped on a regular basis. If you don’t, you’re bound to miss signs of a clogged drain field, vegetation in the pipes, a broken control panel, or another problem that will result in a messy and expensive malfunction.
Vegetation and Roots: Any amount of vegetation growing around your drain field should be dealt with promptly. Vegetation can grow through the perforations in the drain pipes and cause a stubborn blockage. Hydro jetting the drain lines alone may not be enough to fully address vegetation that has grown into the pipes.
Time: Over time, plenty of unexpected problems can occur in your septic system to result in clogging. Solids from the septic tank’s sludge layer, as well as dirt and other forms of debris, may end up clogging the drain field lines. Deterioration of the pipes may also make it easier for vegetation to get through.
If your septic system is performing below expectations, we highly recommend getting a professional to look into it as soon as possible.
